Kamau Mwangi (PhD)
Dr. Kamau Mwangi is a seasoned ICT professional with over 25 years of extensive experience in the industry, with more than half of these years spent in various leadership and management roles. His career spans operational, middle, and senior management levels across the public sector, private enterprises, NGOs, and academia, where he has served as a part-time and adjunct lecturer in several universities. Dr. Mwangi has consistently demonstrated a strong track record in spearheading impactful digital transformation initiatives and innovations aligned with strategic business goals. He is highly proficient in the design and establishment of robust ICT infrastructure, covering hardware, software, operating systems, data storage, and network connectivity. His expertise lies in the implementation and governance of enterprise-grade ICT solutions, including the formulation and enforcement of policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure operational excellence and security. Driven by a passion for leveraging both existing and emerging technologies to solve business and societal challenges, Dr. Mwangi advocates for strong business-ICT alignment as a foundation for sustainable digital transformation and improved organizational performance. His academic pursuits have complemented his professional practice. Notably, his Ph.D. research focused on Information Systems (IS) integration, IT capability, and organizational performance, providing him with a deep and nuanced understanding of the intersection between ICT and business operations. In recent years, Dr. Mwangi has channeled his expertise toward digital transformation in healthcare, with a specific focus on addressing challenges faced in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). His work is aligned with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) classification of digital health interventions, applications, and services. To remain at the forefront of the rapidly evolving ICT landscape, Dr. Mwangi is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics at the Open University of Kenya and is also actively engaged in various trainings in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.
