About the Event

The next edition of the Pan-African Health informatics Association (HELINA) Conference will be hosted by the Uganda Health Informatics Association (UgHIA – https://ughia.org/home/) in partnership with the Makerere University, School of Public Health, the Ministry of Health (MOH), Uganda and HELINA.  Originally slated for 26th – 30th of October 2020, Uganda Health Informatics Association (UgHIA) in conjunction with HELINA has changed the dates of the conference to October, 18th – 22nd, 2021. The deadline for submission of papers will be at the end of June 2021..

This is due to the public health and social measures issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and respective Ministries of Health including that of the Uganda Government in response to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, its continued persistence and unpredictability in terms of effective control and management. The measures including travel restrictions and a ban on mass gatherings have directly affected the practicality of UgHIA hosting the Conference during the earlier proposed period. The conference in October 2021 will be a blend of both virtual and in-person to accommodate those who are unable to physically attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Start Date: October 18, 2021 End Date: October 21, 2021

Venue: Makerere University, Uganda
